Privacy
Our privacy policy, effective October 9, 2026. SLCrochetCo is a one-person studio in California. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you place an order, we collect what is needed to make and deliver it:
- Your name, email address, shipping address and, if you give it, a phone number for the carrier.
- What you ordered, including any color, size, custom note or gift note you add.
- The order total and the status of the order.
Payment details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor, over Stripe's own secure checkout page. SLCrochetCo never sees or stores your card number.
If you join our email list, we store your email address, the time you joined and the page you joined from. If you write to us through the contact form, we store your name, email address and message so we can reply.
How we use it
- To make, pack and ship your order, and to email you about it (confirmation, shipping, any delay).
- To answer your questions.
- To send a few emails a year about new pieces, only if you joined the list. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the records a small business is required to keep for tax and accounting.
Who processes it with us
- Stripe, for payments and receipts.
- USPS, for delivery; the carrier receives your name, address and, if provided, phone number.
- Our email delivery service, which sends order and newsletter emails on our behalf.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its order, newsletter and inquiry records.
Each of these receives only what it needs to do its job.
What we never do
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site.
Cookies and local storage
Your bag is kept in your own browser's local storage and is not sent to us until you check out. The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Because we do not track visitors across other sites, we do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals; there is nothing to turn off.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing the studio. We will keep order records as long as tax law requires, and delete the rest. You can leave the email list with the link in any email or by writing to us.
Children
This site is for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
