About
A one-person studio, one piece at a time. SLCrochetCo is a small crochet studio in California, and every shawl, wrap, scarf and table piece here is crocheted by hand by the maker, start to finish.
How the shop began
The shop began with a few triangle shawls made for friends who wanted something soft and light enough for a cool evening. It grew into the collection you see here: lace and fringe shawls, an oversized neutral wrap, a plush faux fur wrap and cloud scarf, granny square and crossbody bags, cotton blend placemats, runners and a centerpiece doily for the table, and small crocheted pouches for wedding favors.
How the pieces are made
Everything is made in small numbers. Some pieces are one of a kind and ready to ship; others are made to order so you can choose the color, and often the size or length. Each one is crocheted, blocked, measured and packed by the same two hands that made it. Because every piece is handmade, stitches and finished measurements can vary a little, usually by an inch or two.
The yarns are chosen for how they feel and how they wear: fuzzy acrylic and nylon blends with a soft halo for the shawls, super bulky faux fur for the wraps and scarves, and a smooth cotton and polyester blend cord for the table pieces, which has enough body to lie flat under plates and vases.
What you see on the site
Every piece in the shop is photographed as it is, on the same plain ground, so you can compare stitches and colors side by side. Hover or tap a piece to see it worn or set on a table. If you want a true-color photo of the exact piece before you order, write to the studio and we will send one.
Questions, custom sizes and colors
