FAQ
Questions, answered plainly: thirteen things people ask before they order. If yours is not here, write to the studio.
Is everything really handmade?
Yes. Every shawl, wrap, scarf and table piece is crocheted by hand by one maker in a small California studio, start to finish. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is machine made.
Are your photos real?
Yes. Every piece in the shop is photographed as it is, on the same plain ground. The worn and styled images show how a piece drapes or sits on a table. If you want a true-color photo of the exact piece before you order, email us and we will send one.
How long until my order ships?
Ready to ship pieces leave within 1 to 3 business days. Made to order pieces take 1 to 3 weeks to crochet and finish; each product page shows the exact range and the date your piece would ship by. You will get a USPS tracking number by email the day it ships.
How much is shipping?
Nothing extra. Free US shipping is included in every price you see. There is no shipping line and no handling fee at checkout: the price on the product page is the price you pay, plus sales tax where it applies.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. We ship to US addresses only for now. If you are outside the US and would like a piece, email the studio and we will let you know when international shipping opens.
Can I choose a color or size?
Made to order pieces come in the colors shown on their product page, with real yarn swatches so you can see the texture. Several pieces can also be made in a custom size or length: look for the custom size field on the product page, or email the studio before you order and we will confirm what is possible.
How do I care for my piece?
Hand wash cold with a little mild detergent, press the water out gently and lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry, bleach or iron. Keep faux fur away from heat and fluff it by hand once dry; comb fringe straight with your fingers while it is damp. The care line for each piece is on its product page and on the label sewn into it.
Will the color match my screen?
Close, but not perfectly. Every screen shows color a little differently, and yarn can vary slightly between dye lots. If an exact shade matters, for example for a wedding, email us and we will send a photo of the actual yarn in daylight.
What is your return policy?
Ready to ship pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery if they are unworn, unwashed and in their original condition. Made to order and custom pieces are final sale, except when something arrives damaged or not as described, which we will always put right.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe, the same payment company used by millions of businesses, and you can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link or any major card. SLCrochetCo never sees or stores your card number.
Can I buy on Etsy instead?
You can. The same pieces are listed in our Etsy shop. Our own website is always our lowest price, because there are no marketplace fees and US shipping is included.
Do you take custom orders or wholesale?
Custom orders, yes: a different color, a longer runner, a wrap made to your measurements. Email the studio with what you have in mind and we will confirm timing and price before you commit. Wholesale requests are welcome by email too.
How do I contact you?
Email hello@slcrochetco.com or use the form on our contact page. We reply within 2 business days, Monday to Friday. You will hear back from the maker, not a help desk.
